responses of 655 teachers across the United States.
This status report of elementary school science teaching is organized into major topical areas:
Characteristics of the teaching force in the United
States;
Professional development of teachers, both needs and participation;
Instruction, in terms of objectives, time spent, and class activities; and
Resources available for instruction.
