The assessment includes three kinds of items, each set in instructional contexts: (a) knowledge of science content; (b) assessing teacher content knowledge through the analysis of student thinking; and (c) assessing teacher content knowledge through instructional decision-making. The assessment is meant to be administered prior to, and at the conclusion of, the PD.
