Each item specifies the concept(s) targeted, the <a href=\"https:\/\/horizon-research.com\/atlast\/?page_id=68\">type of teacher assessment item<\/a>, and the percent of teachers choosing each response from the first field trial.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Content Assessed by the Items<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The available released items measure knowledge of science content in one of the following areas:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/uploads\/Released TA items\/ATLAST FME Released Items.pdf\">Flow of Matter &amp; Energy in Living Systems<\/a>;<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/uploads\/Released TA items\/ATLAST FM Released Items.pdf\">Force &amp; Motion<\/a>; and<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/uploads\/Released TA items\/ATLAST PT Released Items.pdf\">Plate Tectonics<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Each of the items addresses one or two specific sub-ideas from the <a title=\"Content Clarification Documents\" href=\"https:\/\/horizon-research.com\/atlast\/?page_id=110\">content clarification<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Field Trial Response Data<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>All of the items include the p-values and distribution of responses from a field test of the items.\u00a0 At least 500 science teachers across the nation responded to each item. The group included roughly one-fifth high school science teachers in the appropriate science domain (e.g. physics) to ensure an adequate distribution of levels of teacher knowledge in the sample.
