ATLAST team members drew upon project experiences and outcomes to develop a training session focused on revealing student thinking through the analysis of student work.\u00a0 The training session\u00a0was implemented as a Professional Development Institute in conjunction with\u00a0the 2009 annual conference of the National Science Teachers Association.<\/p>\n
The training\u00a0session provides strategies and resources for analyzing student work and\u00a0guides practice\u00a0in their use.\u00a0 A discussion of the importance of analyzing student work is followed by a review of relevant elicitation strategies and analytical frameworks.\u00a0 The session emphasizes guided practice with the analysis of student-constructed written work, multiple choice items, and utterances.<\/p>\n
