Working with HRI
External Evaluation
HRI has evaluated over 100 initiatives aimed at improving STEM education, in both formal and informal settings, from pre-kindergarten through post-doctoral. These projects range from evaluations of small, narrowly focused teacher enhancement efforts to large, national, cross-site evaluations of NSF-funded programs. We have worked with a variety of clients and stakeholder groups, including government agencies, foundations, professional organizations, and institutions of higher education.
HRI takes a utilization-focused approach to evaluation, using a variety of methods to meet the formative and summative information needs of our clients. Data collection methods include survey, interview, document review, and observation techniques. Further, HRI has expertise in a wide range of qualitative and quantitative analysis approaches.
Unlike most evaluation firms, HRI researchers have a broad and deep understanding of STEM education through our backgrounds in teaching STEM, our evaluation work, and our research projects.
If you are seeking funding for work and need an external evaluator, please email or call us (hri@horizon-research.com or 919-489-1725).
