Alexandra Buisson, is a Research Associate at Horizon Research, Inc. (HRI). She graduated from North Carolina State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Science Education, specializing in Environmental Science, and a minor in Geology. In addition to her college course work, she engaged in undergraduate research pertaining to Earth Science Education and Geology. Prior to joining HRI in 2023, Alexandra dedicated nearly a decade to teaching in North Carolina public schools, where she taught academic and honors Earth Science and AP Environmental Science. Additionally, Alexandra’s experience in science education programs extended to coaching Science Olympiad during all years of teaching. At HRI, Alexandra has worked on a number of projects including AI Institute for Research on Trustworthy AI in Weather, Climate, and Coastal Oceanography (AI2ES), Master of Arts in Teaching Earth Science Residency (MAT-ESR) program, Northwest Earth & Space Sciences Pathways (NESSP), and Planting Science (F2).
